Hi guys. Long time no blog lol. Well I have been busy traveling and working so my absence is not been in vain. But I am excited to share with you guys today. Over the last 6 months there has been lots of changes. Starting with my big move which sparked the need for me to reevaluate the direction of Janelle Jaqueline Photography. Chicago has always been good to me and I never had to worry about finding amazing clients there. But my biggest concern is how to find the right clients near my new home, the East Coast. If I am being honest it took me about 5 years to get the momentum I have gotten in Chicago. I do not want to wait that long to do the same out here so I decided to stop trying to figure it out all on my own and get some mentors to help me hone in on what really works.

After talking to a few photographers I really admire they all said one thing that really stuck out to me. If I want to find the right clients in a new area I needed to create projects to showcase me work. Basically don't sit back and wait on the perfect clients to appear. It is my job to put together styled shoots and collaborate with other wedding professionals so that people know who I am and what I can do. Now I am in no way saying that this is easy to pull off. Styled shoots are a lot of work. They take a lot of planning, organization and a good team to pull off. I was so nervous going into it and I honestly made a few mistakes. But I learned some valuable lessons and this is definitely something I will be doing a lot more of.

So here is it guys. My very first styled shoot! Techniquely this is part one of a two set up. I will be sharing the other part soon. But I am so proud of how it went. I am also so grateful for the entire team that helped to make this happen (listed below). I hope this encourages another photographer to get over their fears and try something new. Just go for it!
