Wilmington Photographer | Trey & Kiara's Engagement Photos

Happy Tuesday afternoon guys! I took a short hiatus from my photo-blog to travel the world with my hubby (click here to check out some vacation photos) but I am back in action now just in time to share some beach photos to commemorate the summer coming to an end. If you are anything like me you are mourning the loss of your favorite season of the year too! ๐Ÿ˜ซ But Trey and Kiaraโ€™s beautiful Anniversary Photo Session gives me a little comfort during such a difficult time in my life. ๐Ÿคฃ

I actually met Trey and Kiara about a year before we realized we met. ๐Ÿคฃ I know that doesnโ€™t make any sense but let me explain. Trey and my Husband are both in the Air-force. They met right around the time my Husband (who was still my boyfriend at the time) first moved to Dover Air-force base in January 2017. They met in a training class. I ended up flying in for his graduation where I met Trey and his then girlfriend Kiara. So that explains half of the story. Fast-forward to about January of this year, some of the Air-force wives decided to get together and go bowling and Kiara came. We did not remember each other at all until my husband reminded that we had met at their graduation. Kiara and Trey had gotten married a couple months before my husband and I and she had moved to Dover just like me a few months prior. The world is already pretty small but the military makes it even smaller.

Since moving to Delaware I had been dying to do a beach session down at Rehoboth Beach. Anyone who lives here will probably say Rehoboth is the best thing to do here in the summer. Once I told Kiara my idea she was completely on board. When it comes to photography, me and Kiara are kind of weirdly in sync. ๐Ÿคฃ We envisioned this romantic picnic beach set up with glasses of wine but apparently the weather did not get our memo. We must have chosen the windiest day of the entire summer because it was crazy out there guys. I mean we couldnโ€™t even get the blanket to stay put without weighting it down. And let me tell you guys that Kiara is a trooper. The wind was blowing her hair E๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพV๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพE๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพR๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพY๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพW๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพH๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพE๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพR๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพE but she just laughed and enjoyed the moment. Itโ€™s a miracle I got any photos on the beach at all in between the huge gusts of wind. And after we had enough of being blown every which way, we decided to go to explore the boardwalk. Sometimes the best part of a session is the part you donโ€™t plan. The boardwalk photos ended up being my favorite part of the this anniversary session. If there is one thing that THIS photographer loves it is COLOR! ๐ŸŽจ And we found the cutest, most colorful, summery little strip on the boardwalk that just made my entire day. Trey and Kiara were such a joy to photograph. First because they are complete naturals in front of the camera. But secondly because they are super sweet together. As you can see this session was full of nothing but laughs and sweet embraces. โค๏ธ I am so glad they trusted me to photograph their love. And I hope to photograph them again soon in the near future!
