FAQ's
'What's the difference between a Lifestyle Portraits Sessions and Business Sessions?'
Lifestyle Portraits Sessions are better for families, couples, and special occasions. They are meant to capture memories and are perfect for artwork for your home (prints, phonebooks and canvases). Most lifestyle sessions include at least 10 digital images but the majority of digital images are sold A La Carte. Branding sessions are better for business professional looking to update their professional head-shots or entrepreneurs looking to further their personal brands. This client primarily needs digital files for their websites, social media, print marketing, etc. and the package pricing includes high resolution.
'What should I wear?'
One of the goals of my photo sessions is to capture my clients personal style and personality in their photo session. So I do not tell people what they should and should not wear. I do, however, make suggestions on what is suitable depending on the location, season, and style of the photo session. As soon as you book your photo session I email you my photo session tips. We will also have a 20 min phone consulation to discuss location, clothing, style, etc. at least a week before your photo session.
'Will you help me with posing?'
Of coarse I will! I know many people are not used to being in front of a camera so I will direct you and your family on awesome posing tips to capture the best shots possible.
'What about choosing a location?'
Yes! When we have our consultation, either in person, on the phone, or on Skype, I will get a feel for what kind of look you are going for. So if you do not already have a location in mind, I will suggest one.
'What time of day do you schedule Photo Sessions?'
Outdoor photography is best scheduled early in the morning about an hour after sun rise or right before the sun goes down. The exact time varies depending on the time of year. For morning shoots the time might be anywhere between 6:00 am - 8:00 am and sunset shoots can be anywhere from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Indoor shoots are best done in the morning or early afternoon when sunlight is the brightest.
'What happens if I need to change my appointment time/date or cancel?'
Appointment times and dates are written out in our contract and signed prior to the date of your photo session/wedding. Changing the date must be done 1 week prior to the photo session and 6 months prior to the wedding. The time may be changed a week prior as well depending on the photographers availability. Cancelations (with the exception of an emergency) will result in a loss of session fee and deposit. And, unfortunately those are nonrefundable.
'What if the weather is not ideal for an outdoor photo session?'
If there is inclement weather on the day of your outdoor session we will reschedule (free of charge) to the next available date. If inclement weather is known prior to photos session an indoor location can be used instead if agreed upon by the Client and the photographer.
'Why are digital files so expensive? Why are they important?
Digital High Resolution files give clients the ability to print photographs themselves and also send the files to other establishments for printing for personal use. They are awesome back ups if your photographs are ever lost or damaged. And because you will never have to come back to me for printing the value of digital file is far greater than the actual prints.
'Why do I have to pay for a session fee and separately for products and digital files?'
The session fee covers my time and talent during your photo session, the editing of your images, and the creation of a full image gallery. All prints, products and digital files are sold A La Carte after viewing your full gallery of images. This allows Clients to purchase what is suitable and necessary for their own specific needs.
