Chicago Maternity Photography: Marcy and Carl's Gender Reveal

This weekend was one for the books. Have I told ya'll how much I love what I do? Well let me say it again, I LOVE what I do! This weekend I was able to be apart of a very special moment for one of my dear friends. She and her family are expecting a new addition to the family, so we had to document it in a special way. 

When Marcy first told me she was pregnant about two months ago, the idea of a gender reveal popped into both of our heads. She wanted to do something cute and fun and I wanted to try something new. Gender reveals, although popular, are rarely ever executed the right way (just my opinion lol). Most parents use the moment to surprise their friends and family with the sex of their baby. But a true gender reveal is when the parents are the ones who are surprised!

We made sure to schedule the session only one day after the doctor could tell the sex of the baby. With so much excitement, I do not think these parents or their family could have held off knowing any longer. I even agreed to meet Marcy at her house only a couple hours after her doctors appointment, to pick up the envelope so she wouldn't be tempted to peek. We didn't want to anything to ruin this surprise.

And boy were these two surprised to find out that Baby Armour is in fact a precious little GIRL!!! The joy and excitement was through the roof because that is exactly what they wanted.

Now there is no way we could leave out BIG brother Avery. Marcy wanted to give him, his own little surprise introduction to his sibling. I have a feeling these two will be besties in no time!

I want to say from the bottom of my heart CONGRATULATIONS to my amazing friend Marcy and her beautiful family. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your special moment. This was absolutely the highlight of 2017 for me! I can't wait to do your maternity photos!
