Chicago Wedding Photography | Johari & Anthony

I am so excited to share whats new on the blog today. Johari & Anthony's wedding was a game changer for me. Not just because it was beautiful and they were the most perfect clients any wedding photographer could ask for. But also because it was my first intimate wedding and I realized this might be my thing.

The thing I enjoyed most about their wedding was the laid back atmosphere. No one was stressed or rushed. Not even Johari. From the first time we spoke on the phone,  I realized she is probably one of the sweetest people on earth and meeting her in person confirmed that. But even the sweetest, gentlest, most kind person gets a pass for being stressed on her wedding day. But Johari did not break character once.

There were several unique details that I really loved about their day. Starting with their request for cuddle pictures in their PJ's before the wedding. I absolutely adore this idea. I might be stealing this for my other clients (lol).

Can we take a moment to just admire this stunning dress? I mean look at it! I love all things non-traditional because it a change of pace for me. This dress is perfection!

I love first looks! Not just because it gives us more picture time but because it gives the bride and groom a moment alone to enjoy each other. Johari and Anthony had the cutest reaction to seeing each other for the first time!

This intimate wedding consisted of 20 people and it was held in Johari's parents home. It was beautifully decorated and exactly what the bride and groom wanted. They were very hands on and did many things themselves. Only their extremely closest family and friends were invited, the groom sister was actually the officiant, and they kept it simple yet amazing! I believe that the best weddings are when the bride and groom are true to themselves and do what it is they really want to do. Johari and Anthony definitely did that!
