Merion Tribute House Philadelphia Wedding | Sandra & Solomon

Joyful laughter. Lively dancing. Tearful, thoughtful speeches. These are just a few of the things that stood out to me about Sandra & Solomon beautiful wedding day. They were my first 2019 wedding and I can honestly say I could not have started my wedding season off with a better couple. Sandra & Solomon are literally two of the nicest people I have ever met. And I am not exaggerating when I say that this was one of the most calm wedding days I have ever photographed. From the getting ready shots to through the start of the reception, we were actually ahead of schedule most of the day. And everyone was in such a good mood which makes me a happy photographer. 😆

Sandra and Solomon tied the knot on June 16th 2019 at Merion Tribute House just outside of Philadelphia. A June garden wedding, does it get any more perfect than that? 😍But if you were watching the forecast that week, the weather prediction for their wedding day not seem so perfect. It was predicted to rain all week. And as much we were all hoping the prediction would somehow change the morning of their wedding, that is not what happened. As I made my drive from Delaware from Philly the morning of their wedding, looking at the grey, cloudy sky, I had the full expectation that their beautiful garden wedding would most likely be moved in doors. 😩As I was driving I even asked God to make the clouds disappear and give us clear, blue skies. But as any experienced photographer would be, I was prepared with a set of clear umbrellas just in case the rain decided to make an appearance. To my excitement, when I arrived at the venue, their team was setting up for both an indoor and outdoor scenarios. And if you know me at all you know that I’m all about having a plan B. 🙌🏾 So I (and everyone else there) continued silently praying for the rain to hold off until after the ceremony. And as you can see from the completely dry photos below, it did! 😆I am not exaggerating when I say that it did not hold up one second longer than it needed to. As soon as the outdoor cocktail hour was over and the last guest made it safely into the building for the reception, the rain literally started pouring down. 😱Talk about an answered prayer. The timing was so perfect. Not one guest got wet but I have a feeling that with this group it wouldn’t have mattered. They were to busy celebrating and dancing the night away.

One thing that these two told me early on is that it was important for them to enjoy time with their loved ones, many of whom traveled from overseas just to be there to celebrate with them. (Side Note: Their families are from completely different parts of the world but they were all so excited and happy to be apart of their day. It’s a complete testament to how awesome these two really are.) So keeping the importance of quality time with their families in mind made it easier for us to organize their day. So while many wedding days can almost feel like a blur because of having to rush from one thing to the next while also having to fit in all the formal photos for the entire day between the ceremony and reception, Sandra & Solomon they opted to do a first look. That allowed them to do all of their formal photos early before their ceremony which is a lot less rushed. It also meant that they had the time to really enjoy their guests during cocktail hour and the reception. But the main reason that this was such a relaxed wedding day is that this pair just have such a calm energy. Though they were always clear and concise about what they wanted they have such gentle, sweet spirits that it makes serving them a joy. Sandra and Solomon are really are Bride and Groom #WeddingDayGoals.

Sandra & Solomon,

Thank you for allowing me to be apart of such an amazing day. Although the venue and decor were absolutely stunning my favorite part of the day was getting to photograph the two of you. It was amazing to see you both so happy and excited to begin this new journey together and to witness a celebration filled with so much love and joy. It honestly had me holding back a couple tears. You guys are more than just clients, you have become more like friends. I wish you a lifetime of love, joy and blessings!
