Washington DC Photography | The Capital Couple takes the Cherry Blossom Festival

Happy Friday guys! So as many of you know I moved to the East Coast back in October. I grew up in Chicago but this isn't my first time living out East. I lived in DC for 4 years while I was in college at Howard University. If you have ever lived in DC or visited during the spring then you know all about the beautiful 🌸Cherry Blossoms🌸 trees that are all around the city. From the first time I saw them I fell completely in love. And in case you have never seen them I can assure you that there is not a more beautiful spring sight than the Cherry Blossoms surrounding the tidal basin. I have been obsessed with these trees since before I became a photographer (well a professional one anyway because I have always loved having a camera in my hands). As a I photographer I have a bucket list of sessions I have to complete at some point in my career. A photo session surrounded by cherry blossom has been at the top of this list for awhile. Well guys last weekend my cherry blossom dreams finally came true and it was so much better than I even expected!

I am so excited to share these photos because not only is the scenery AMAZING but I got to photograph such a sweet couple. Being a photographer allows me to meet all kinds of people. A good photographer can make any one comfortable in front of their camera but honestly there are just some people that are just naturally made to be in front of the camera. The Capital Couple is definitely one of those couples. If you live in DC you may actually know about this adorable duo. The Capital Couple are known around Washington DC for blogging and sharing the sights and hot spot to check out around DC. Be sure to check out their blog right here.

Now although Cherry Blossoms are a sign that spring is near, it felt like the dead of winter during this session. ❄️🌬⛄️ Ethan & Taylor were such troopers, you would honestly never know that it was FREEZING outside. Their stylishly coordinated outfits were the perfect compliment to the gorgeous flower filled trees. But the best part of the session was that these two just have a naturally, sweet chemistry that it made photographing them a breeze. I tell my couples all the time is less about posing and more about just loving on each other. The more love you show the better your photos will be. Thank you Ethan & Taylor for trusting me to photograph this sweet moment. I had a blast and I hope we get to work together again soon!
