Philly Wedding Photographer | Kenneth & Danielle Engagement Session
2019 has been my busiest year to date. And although I am in the thick of my 2019 wedding season I am C👏🏾O👏🏾M👏🏾M👏🏾I👏🏾T👏🏾T👏🏾E👏🏾D to getting back to blogging at least twice a month. This year has brought on so many amazing sessions that deserve to be put on display. So today I am sharing Danielle & Kenneth’s engagement session. And even though they will be back in front of my camera tomorrow for their wedding day, it’s better late than never right? 🙃😂
One thing that I love about MY brides is that we almost always click instantly. Now that I am becoming a little more seasoned as a wedding photographer I’ve learned the importance of having that connection and sharing the same vision with your couples and not just providing a service to collect a paycheck. It will save you a lot of unnecessary headaches. From our initial consultation I knew Danielle was MY bride because it felt less like meeting with a client and more like talking to a girl friend about her wedding plans. And their engagement session reinforced that these were MY people. On this BLAZING hot summer morning Danielle and Kenneth met me (and my hubby/assistant) at the first location in downtown Philly and history was made. Not only did their photos turn out BOMB but the entire session was super relaxed and fun. My husband being there cracking corny jokes to make my couples laugh is always was a plus (but don’t tell him I said that 🙊). But what really made this session amazing is how sweet these two are together. 😍
I think this engagement session made me fall in love with Philly guys!! I mean Chicago will always be number 1 in my heart. ❤️ But honestly when you have been photographing couples for years in the same city, everything from location choices to your poses can start to become very routine and redundant. That is why it’s been so cool to explore Philadelphia. I am still so new to the area that everywhere I shoot is somewhere completely new for me. I am also very open when it comes to choosing the location because my clients actually do know the city way better than I do. Luckily Danielle is a bride who knows what she wants so her location suggestions were spot on! Both locations were awesome but I the 2nd location was definitely my favorite. Although when you think of doing your engagement photos in a major city your mind normally goes to tall buildings with cool architecture I loved the more homey feel to the 2nd spot. It was still in the city but in a more lived in part of the city. The brownstones row houses and the greenery fit so well with Danielle and Kenneth’s native Philly vibe. As you can see they KILLED IT! And if their engagement session is any indication of how the wedding will be, I am expecting a super 🔥wedding tomorrow! And I CAN NOT WAIT!
